Mayor Opens Maundy Relief’s New Look Charity Shop
On Monday 29th June 2026 at 10am, we celebrated the re-opening of Maundy Relief’s Charity Shop on Abbey Street, Accrington, and were delighted that Hyndburn’s Mayor, Councillor Noordad Aziz, was in attendance to mark this special occasion and cut the ribbon. The shop has been closed for refurbishment, cleaning and staff and volunteer training.
Chris Marsden, Shop Manager says: ‘The whole team has worked really hard on this project and we are all really proud of the results! Our refreshed look aims to appeal to our existing loyal customers as well as attracting new ones. We are so grateful to local residents who donate such high-quality items of furniture, bric-a-brac, electricals and clothing to Maundy Relief and it is a pleasure to be able to display them in this new setting. I hope as many people as possible will accept our invitation to come and have a look around!’

Maundy Relief’s shop is on 36-38 Abbey Street, Accrington BB5 1EB and is open Monday to Friday 10am till 4pm and on Saturday 10am till 3pm.
