Maundy Relief – We work on the frontline in the community by responding immediately to need.

Therapies

Adult Counselling

We have professional counsellors ready to help anyone who needs their support. This service is open to the East Lancashire community. It doesn’t matter who you are, your age, gender, race, religion, or sexuality, we are here to listen and help.

We take referrals from local organisations including the NHS, Social Services, Probation, but our counselling is open to all so we’re happy to take self-referrals too.

We will take your contact details so that we can get in touch with you to arrange an initial assessment. Assessments take up to an hour and are usually available within a week.

Counselling is a talking therapy that can help you to talk through your problems in a safe and confidential setting and can help you to work through difficult thoughts and feelings and can also help to improve or relieve symptoms of low mood and anxiety.

Our counsellors give their time freely as volunteers but the service costs money to run. You will be asked to make a contribution towards this cost at your assessment but inability to pay is not a barrier to the service.

The Bridge

The Bridge is a free counselling service for young people aged between 11 – 18. We offer a professional counselling service for those who need it and we also run support groups for this age group.

If you are feeling depressed or suffering from anxiety

If you’re having trouble making friends

If you’re having problems at home, school or college

If you are being bullied

Whatever is troubling you, you can talk to us.

It may feel like it, but you are not alone and we won’t judge you at all. We will offer you a private and confidential service to help get your life on the right track.

Anger Management

Our aim is to help individuals to understand themselves better and recognise why they might be triggered to react in an unhelpful way.

Anger is a normal and acceptable emotion, and everyone is allowed to express anger: ideally the right amount of anger at the right time, towards the right person or situation.

If anger is becoming a problem in someone’s life we can help them to look at where the underlying trigger might originate from;

Anger is a symptom of the problem, not the problem.
