Maundy Relief – We work on the frontline in the community by responding immediately to need.

Case study – Joe
Joe is a man in his 40s who has a moderate learning disability. In January he was moved by Police from his home city as he had been assaulted on several occasions and was being bullied and threatened by gang members. He was advised by his housing provider to come to Maundy for company and food as he had no links to this area and was isolated and lonely and missed his family.
Since then, Joe has come to Maundy most days and we have supported him with his mental and physical health, his benefits issues and have arranged for his tenancy to be converted to a supported living scheme. Joe is still at risk of exploitation but now he has somewhere to turn and, as importantly, a place where he is always welcome and respected.
