Case Study – Toby

Toby was referred to the night shelter from Hyndburn Housing Advice. He had been living in a wood for six months after suffering domestic violence and was too scared to return to his property. He eventually found the courage to seek help from Hyndburn Council and was immediately referred to Maundy.

Toby has PTSD and was initially unable to provide much information about his circumstances but after a week in the shelter he started to gain in confidence and agreed to be referred to the A Bed For Every Night Project which provides accommodation and support to street homeless people.

Toby has now moved into his new property and is getting used to being under a roof again. He tells us he is slowly losing the constant feeling of panic that he has felt every day of the last few years.
